I have to re-search how Hipaa is related to computers and technology! How is HIPPA implemented into the technology we use in our hospitals and doctor offices today? I know there are a number of ways but I dont know where to start, can anyone help me?

This is a tough question. I think that one way HIPAA has effected computers and techonology is through requiring all computers/stations to be locked when not in use, and requiring a password to log on. Access to information that you do not need is being more restricted, and a lot of sytems now keep track of all the information you review to make sure you only use it for business reasons.
Great design, resourceful information,user-friendly layout should be a good place to answer your questions.http://www.HealthInsuranceFreeTips.info/free-health-insurance.htm
Google “health insurance fraud punishment” and you will find: “In response to the increased amount of health care fraud in the United States, Congress, through the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), has specifically established **health care fraud as a federal criminal offense with punishment of up to ten years of prison in addition to significant financial penalties.**” She is done.
