Protection: Privacy, Safety, and Standards The final program in this series looks at the third provision in the ANA Code of Ethics, which states that the nurse "...promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety, and rights of the patient." Particular emphasis is placed on the provision of confidentiality as mandated under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and the role of ethics in medical research. Also covered is the mandate for procedures that address reporting unethical, illegal, or impaired practice, including safeguards to protect whistle-blowers from reprisal. Realistic scenarios demonstrate the key points of the program. Release Date: 2006 Time: 21:00 For More info on the full DVD, please contact : HEAT INC 416 538 9898 sales@heatinc.ca
